Here you’ll discover iconic Guatemalan snacks and staples:
- Tortrix – Guatemala’s most famous chips. Why are they so popular? Why are they spicy? Why do locals love them so much?
- Fresh handmade corn tortillas – the foundation of Guatemalan cuisine and a sacred Mayan ingredient.



- Octavos / Cutos – 1/8 liter bottles of Quetzalteca aguardiente, traditionally sold as clear “blanco” and now available in various flavors. These small bottles are part of everyday local culture and commonly sold in corner stores.
This stop is about understanding daily life.
🛒 Stop 2: La Bodegona (Local Supermarket)
A look at modern Guatemalan food culture.
We explore:
